The colourless to light-yellow Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil works as a perfect massage oil and is ideal for a hair conditioning product, as well as for the care of wan, dry skin. It is characterised by a high content of oleic acid and palmitoleic acid, which are similar to the human skin sebum. Therefore, it has a regenerative effect and outstanding skin care benefits that smooth the skin.

Sesame Seed Oil works as a perfect massage oil and is used for the care of wan, dry and mature skin but it is also used as a hair conditioning product. It has a great antioxidative effect, skin caring properties and is an ideal carrier oil for active agents. It comprises of a high content of unsaturated fatty oils, such as oil and linolenic acid, as well as phytosterols and Vitamin E (esp. gamma-tocopherol).

Alcohol is another term for ethanol or ethyl alcohol. In manufacturing plant extracts contained in Weleda's products, mixtures of alcohol and water are used as extraction agents in some formulations. The consistency and stability of natural cosmetic products are improved by alcohol.

Cocoa Seed Butter is a relative firm and brittle butter-like vegetable fat. It improves the consistency of emulsions and acts as a protective barrier to the skin, which preserves its moisture balance. It is therefore especially suited for dry and sensitive skin. Glyceryl Stearate Citrate is an emulsifier that can be used in both O/W emulsions (oil-in-water emulsions) and in W/O emulsions (water-in-oil-emulsions). Jojoba Seed Oil is an oily liquid wax that is very similar to the protective layer of the human skin. At the same time, it supports the barrier function of the skin. Thereby it protects the skin against water loss without leaving it greasy. It is very skin friendly, easily absorbed and is therefore a suitable care product for all skin types, especially for dry skin. It is also very suitable as a foundation oil, which does not go off.

Wheat Germ Oil is a light-yellow vegetable oil that is rich in Vitamin E. It comprises of a high content of linoleic and alpha linolenic acid and is especially suitable for dry and mature skin.

Glycerin is a natural component of fats and oils, which consist mainly of triglycerides (a combination of glycerin and three fatty acids). The glycerin that Weleda uses is obtained exclusively from plant oils. Glycerin is used as a moisturiser in cosmetic products as it is able to release the water it absorbs. Glycerin also makes oil-in-water emulsions easier to spread and has a smoothing and protecting effect on the skin.

Cetearyl Alcohol is a co-emulsifying agent, an emollient agent for O/W-Emulsions (oil-in-water- emulsions) and improves consistency. Cetearyl Alcohol is gained from plant oils and supports the formation of a stable emulsion. It also has a moisturising effect.

Due to the phytosterol and the squalene in the unsaponifiable part of the olive oil, it is a valuable raw material, which has an antioxidative effect and is very kind to the skin. This component is easily absorbed by the hydro-lipid film of the skin and thus supports its barrier function. Thereby, it contributes to the protection of the skin against water loss. The unsaponifiable part of the olive oil is ideal for skin care products for dry and sensitive skin.

Shea Butter is a semi-solid, butter-like vegetable fat. The skin-friendly Shea Butter is mainly used to improve consistency. It leaves a fine film on the skin, which has smoothing properties and preserves the moisture of the skin.

Evening Primrose Oil is a light oil that is rich in in linoleic acid and gamma-linoleic acid and thus it is particular kind and soothing to the skin.
