UEBT
Weleda contributes to a world in which people and biodiversity strive. The UEBT label for “SOURCING WITH RESPECT” certifies that biodiversity is being protected during the cultivation, harvesting and further processing of the natural ingredients we use.
Lightly absorbed and moisturizing hand cream that takes care of an irritated skin and strengthens the skin's protective barrier. Based on organic jojoba oil and coconut oil and gives a silky feel. Dermatologically tested. Fragrance-free.
Water is the foundation of the water phase and solvent for hydrophilic (water-loving) substances.
Jojoba Seed Oil
Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil
Jojoba Seed Oil is an oily liquid wax that is very similar to the protective layer of the human skin. At the same time, it supports the barrier function of the skin. Thereby it protects the skin against water loss without leaving it greasy. It is very skin friendly, easily absorbed and is therefore a suitable care product for all skin types, especially for dry skin. It is also very suitable as a foundation oil, which does not go off.
Glycerin
Glycerin
Glycerin is a natural component of fats and oils, which consist mainly of triglycerides (a combination of glycerin and three fatty acids). The glycerin that Weleda uses is obtained exclusively from plant oils. Glycerin is used as a moisturiser in cosmetic products as it is able to release the water it absorbs. Glycerin also makes oil-in-water emulsions easier to spread and has a smoothing and protecting effect on the skin.
Coconut Oil
Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil
Pure Coconut Oil melts on the skin and leaves a notable cooling effect. It forms a protecting film on the skin that retains the skin moisture and it is therefore especially suitable for the care of dry and sensitive skin. The typical and characteristic fragrance of the coconut oil leaves a pleasant scent, even to non-perfumed products.
Behenyl Alcohol
Behenyl Alcohol
Behenyl Alcohol is a moisture preserving fatty alcohol. Additionally, the fatty alcohol has a stabilizing effect on emulsions.
Tapioca Starch
Tapioca Starch
Tapioca is the starch gained from the cassava (manioc) root. It is a white powder that is used in cosmetic products to improve consistency.
Pentylene Glycol
Pentylene Glycol
As an ingredient in emulsions, pentylene glycol moisturises the skin and helps improve the product’s stability. It is made from plant raw materials.
Squalane
Squalane
Squalane is a component of the barrier layer of the skin. Derived from plants, Squalane can integrate well into the barrier layer and thus supports the protective function of the skin. It leaves a soft and silky feeling to the skin.
Betaine
Betaine
Betaine is an amino acid derivative and is also a natural component of hair. In cosmetic products, betaine is used as a moisturiser because it is able to release previously absorbed water. Betaine is obtained from molasses.
Fatty acid ester
Sorbitan Stearate
Stearic acid sorbitol ester has an emulsifying effect. It is made from plant oils and plant starch.
Cellulose powder
Microcrystalline Cellulose
Cellulose powder is obtained from wood and swells in aqueous solutions. It stabilises emulsions.
Trehalose
Trehalose
Trehalose is a double sugar that is obtained from the cassava root in multiple stages. This dissaccharide is able to store and release water. Trehalose acts as a humectant and moisturizer in cosmetic products.
Lactate
Lactic Acid
Lactic Acid is a natural ingredient of the protective acid mantle of the skin. This raw material is used in emulsions to regulate the pH-value.
Xanthan Gum
Xanthan Gum
Xanthan Gum is a high molecular weight, long chain carbohydrate (polysaccharide), which is used as a natural gelling agent, emulsion stabilizer, binder and viscosity regulator.
Glyceryl Caprylate
Glyceryl Caprylate
Glyceryl caprylate is a co-emulsifier that is primarily used to stabilise O/W emulsions (oil-in-water emulsions). It possesses replenishing, moisture regulating and wetting properties. Glyceryl caprylate is manufactured using various vegetable oils.
Sugar ester
Sucrose Cocoate
This sugar ester is used as an emulsifier. It has skin-caring properties and makes the skin feel pleasantly smooth. Sucrose cocoate is made from plant oils and sugar.
